Free lab testing for vials readers already own

Readers can send a labelled vial they already own for a free lab test. Suppliers can ask to be tested, and we publish the result either way.

On 31 August 2026 we opened free testing. A reader who already owns a vial can send it to us, and we arrange a lab test at no cost to them.

The vial must carry a label that names the contents and the supplier. A result for a vial with no label cannot be tied to anyone, so we refuse those.

Suppliers can ask to be tested too. We buy the product ourselves at the listed price, and the supplier covers only that cost. We publish the result either way. The supplier cannot stop it.

On 8 September we set the first batch at 50 tests for UK senders, with a waiting list after that. On 14 September the free test became HPLC purity only. On 29 September the batch opened to US senders: UK vials are tested for purity by HPLC at a UK university laboratory, and US vials for identity by mass spectrometry at a US university laboratory.

Testing is for research information only.
