Our methodology
How we calculate supplier price ratings
A supplier can look cheap because it sells larger vials or bulk packs. Our price index compares equivalent offers first, then summarises how those prices sit against other suppliers serving the same country.
By Sophie KitchenWhat the price grade tells you
Each country-guide supplier section shows a price index and a word describing its price level. An index of 100 means prices are in line with the matched peer median; 80 means approximately 20% lower matched prices. Lower is cheaper. This is a relative measure, not an average cash price.
- Much lower: index below 80.
- Lower: index from 80 to 89.9.
- Near benchmark: index from 90 to 110.
- Higher: index from 110.1 to 120.
- Much higher: index above 120.
- Unrated: there is not enough qualifying price data to calculate an overall index.
Each label is relative to the matched benchmark: “Lower” means lower matched prices, not an absolute judgment that an order is affordable. These bands are an editorial convention, not market percentiles or statistically calibrated grades. We use a ±10% band around 100, with another boundary at ±20%, to give readers a consistent vocabulary. We apply these bands to the index rounded to one decimal place, which is the value readers see. These are price labels only. They do not assess purity, testing quality, reliability or suitability for human use.
First, match the actual product and quantity
We group offers by peptide, milligrams per vial and number of vials. A 5 mg single vial is compared only with other 5 mg single vials of the same peptide. A 10 mg vial forms a different group. Ten 5 mg vials are compared with other packs of ten 5 mg vials, not with one 50 mg vial.
For example, a $30 single 5 mg vial and a $200 pack of ten 5 mg vials are different offers. The bulk pack costs $20 per vial, but requires a $200 purchase. We show the full pack price and may show the derived per-vial price for context; we never use that $20 figure as a single-vial quote. These figures are illustrative, not current supplier prices.
Plain-size vial listings are treated as one vial when no pack quantity is stated, and that assumption is labelled beside the quote. Conflicting masses or quantities, blends, kits, non-vial forms and unclear formulations are excluded. Unqualified CJC-1295 listings are excluded because the catalog does not separately identify DAC and no-DAC formulations. A supplier that omits its bulk quantity can still leave an undetectable ambiguity, so check the original offer.
Compare within the same region and currency
Only active suppliers with explicit country coverage enter that country’s comparison. UK guides use GBP quotes, US guides use USD and German guides use EUR. We do not convert currencies or assume that EU-only coverage includes Germany. A country listing records a destination served; it does not verify domestic manufacturing or dispatch.
The ranking uses positive, in-stock quotes checked within the previous 30 days. Future-dated observations and non-vial listing sources are excluded. Recent out-of-stock or unknown-stock prices may still be displayed, but do not contribute to a supplier’s index.
Calculate the comparison for each option
For an exact peptide, strength and pack quantity, we use each supplier’s lowest qualifying in-stock listed price. If a listing appears more than once, its newest observation takes precedence. Multiple listings do not give the same supplier extra votes.
We divide that supplier’s full-pack price by the median price from at least two other suppliers in the same comparison group. The supplier being graded is excluded from its own benchmark.
For example, if two other suppliers list the exact same pack at $40 and $60, their median is $50. A supplier charging $40 has a ratio of 0.8 for that option. A single option can explain a price difference, but cannot establish the supplier’s overall grade.
Give each peptide equal weight
We take the geometric average of the matched price ratios across sizes and pack quantities within each peptide. We then take the geometric average across the matched peptides, giving every peptide equal weight, and multiply by 100.
This means a peptide with many listed sizes does not outweigh a peptide with one size simply because it has more listings. It also avoids averaging the cash prices of different peptides, which can have very different price levels.
A supplier needs at least three matched peptides for an overall price index and regional rank. Every qualifying option needs at least two other in-stock suppliers. The section shows the number of matched options, eligible in-stock options and matched peptides so readers can see the coverage.
A complete example: three peptides, five matched options
Consider a fictional supplier, A. All figures below are illustrative US dollar quotes, checked on the same day, in stock, for the same formulations. B and C are two other suppliers serving the US. Each price buys the entire stated pack; there are no shipping charges or discounts in this calculation.
- BPC-157, one 5 mg vial: A charges $40; B charges $45 and C $55. The peer median is $50, so A’s ratio is 40 ÷ 50 = 0.80.
- BPC-157, one 10 mg vial: A charges $70; B charges $90 and C $110. The peer median is $100; the ratio is 0.70. This is a separate size comparison.
- BPC-157, ten 5 mg vials: A charges $300; B charges $380 and C $420. The full-pack median is $400; the ratio is 0.75. A’s derived $30 per vial is never substituted for its $40 single-vial offer.
- TB-500, one 5 mg vial: A charges $60; B charges $45 and C $55. The median is $50; the ratio is 1.20. A costs more for this option.
- GHK-Cu, one 50 mg vial: A charges $30; B charges $35 and C $45. The median is $40; the ratio is 0.75.
First combine the three BPC-157 ratios: the cube root of (0.80 × 0.70 × 0.75) is approximately 0.7489. TB-500 contributes 1.20 and GHK-Cu contributes 0.75. Each peptide now has one value, so BPC-157 does not get three times the weight.
The overall index is 100 × the cube root of (0.7489 × 1.20 × 0.75) = 87.7. A receives the grade Lower: its matched-price ratios average about 12.3% below the benchmarks geometrically. That does not mean every item is cheaper—its TB-500 quote is 20% higher—or that a specific shopping basket saves 12.3%.
A qualifies because all five options match at least two peers and cover three different peptides. If the GHK-Cu comparison disappeared, only two peptides would remain and A would become unrated. A’s regional rank would require calculating every other eligible supplier’s index; this example alone cannot establish first place.
Read the rank alongside its coverage
Rated suppliers are ordered by index, from lowest to highest. Indices that round to the same tenth share a rank. An unrated supplier is not necessarily expensive: its listings may be missing, stale, ambiguous or too different from the other suppliers’ catalogs.
Rank and grade answer different questions. The lowest index among eligible suppliers can still be “Near benchmark”; first place does not mean a supplier is substantially cheaper, nor does it include unrated suppliers. Suppliers can have different overlapping peptide catalogs, so the index is not a fixed shopping basket shared by everyone. A low index is evidence of lower prices on that supplier’s matched options, not proof that it is cheapest for every peptide or order.
What is outside the calculation?
Shipping, taxes and coupon discounts are excluded. Prices can change after the recorded check. Conditional volume discounts and free-vial promotions require a confirmed full-pack offer before they can be compared; a headline promotion alone is not imported into the calculation. Country guides prefer live catalog listings when available; if the database is unavailable, they may use the dated repository snapshot and label it as such. The fallback can also contain separately collected public website quotes, labelled beside the example. Their stock status remains unconfirmed unless independently established in the listing data, so they do not contribute to the index. All displayed observations expire after 30 days. Source links let readers check the current offer.
The price grade does not change the PSV Trust Score. Our country supplier guides rank suppliers 70% on trust and 30% on price, and the price part comes from this index. Read the verification methodology for how supplier evidence is assessed.
